A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's initial title after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface after March of 2023.

The win also indicates he has won 21 victories at twenty-one different events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

His counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

He recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair swapped breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to create a decider.

The opponent saved four early chances in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
